Meet Janu
Janu — known to brides and clients across Kathmandu as Makeupbyjanu — is the artist and founder behind NJS, The Beauty Point. Her journey from a passionate makeup enthusiast to a professional artist has been guided by one conviction: makeup is not a mask, it is a way of letting a person recognise herself. Today her chair is where Nepali tradition and international glamour meet — bridal looks that honour ritual and heritage, finished with the ease and polish of contemporary editorial style.

Long before there was a studio with her name on the wall, there was simply a girl who could not stop studying faces — the way light rests on a cheekbone, the way a line can steady a nervous bride. What began as passion became practice, and practice became a profession. Janu learned her craft face by face, occasion by occasion, until the work itself made the promise she still keeps: every look begins with the person wearing it.

Wedding seasons taught her the most. Morning after morning with brides — each with her own features, her own rituals, her own idea of beauty — shaped an artistry that refuses templates. Janu became known for bridal makeup that blends tradition with contemporary elegance, and just as fluent in the glamour of international trends. Somewhere between those mornings, a bigger idea took hold: Kathmandu deserved one place where all of it — artistry, skin, hair and care — could live under a single, uncompromising standard.

That idea became NJS – The Beauty Point: a sanctuary in Old Baneshwor where beauty meets expertise. Janu shaped it the way she shapes a look — deliberately, personally, with nothing left to chance. Makeup artistry, skincare, bridal services and a curated line of products she stands behind, all delivered by a team trained to her own protocols.
The name on the door matters to her. Every service carries the standard she built her reputation on — premium products, patient hands and looks that photograph beautifully because they belong to the person wearing them.

Ask Janu what she believes and the answer is simple: beauty is diverse, personal and already there. Her work — and the studio she built — exists to celebrate it in every form it takes: a bride carrying generations of tradition, a guest dressing for one unforgettable evening, a client claiming an ordinary day. Meet her once, in her chair or in her studio, and you understand the promise of NJS: you will leave more yourself, not less.
